The team of teachers of Mariupol secondary school №51 is convinced that modern
schoolchildren almost appeared "with a mouse in hand".

Children, who were born in the 21st century, are surrounded by computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and gaming consoles. Earlier teenage idols could be seen in magazines and on TV, and the heroes of modern youth are the stars of YouTube. And, of course, they no longer imagine life without the Internet: for them it always exists.

Parents, teachers, psychologists and other adults are arguing – Internet is absorbing
their children. Is that really true? Is the Z generation really lost? Let's look at this
in another way and, above all, the question arises: how appropriate is it to use such
modern features of children?

It's no secret that knowledge of a foreign language is an integral part of a modern person. But at the same time, learning English is often so badly given to students, because it is a huge number of new words, which are sometimes difficult to remember by classical methods.

However, it is often possible to find a solution to a problem by asking the opinion of those for whom education is created. The students have suggested by themselves a way for us, teachers, to improve their lessons. So the idea of creating an interactive virtual space "Wonderland».
What it is?

This is a specialized classroom of a foreign language, equipped in a such way that students can use the most interactive technologies, namely:

  • on-line platform (Kahoot !, Quizlet, Plickers, etc.);
  • programs for listening to modern audio texts;
  • to  watch video
  • virtual reality apps;
  • add-ons of reality;

All this will enable:
  • to show students that learning English can be interesting and exciting,
  • to teach children how to improve speaking English, which is difficult now
  • to discuss English videos and clips related to various cultural events, as
    well as commonplace things,
  • to acquire intercultural communication skills through video communication with native speakers.

    The whole complex of various interactive games is being already developed for two years. Children use QR-codes, Plickers cards. And an appropriate experiment was conducted on two parallel classes, where in the first class these games and exercises were used, while in others it was not. As a result, we were all able to see the rapid growth of not only knowledge but also the desire for learning.

A cozy class is already available for the project, there is a TV and a laptop, thanks to which there is already the possibility of introducing many interactive techniques. Also, programs are being developed, video selection and various virtual reality applications are made to maximize the depth of the subject.

Our goal is to expand the possibilities of introducing such training and spread it
to all students, and for this we need some accessories:
